A candle was burning in a window
and the King of the Butterflies wanted to know,
'What is that shining light all about?
What is it? and Wherefrom? and Wherefore? and How?'
A butterfly flew away and returned.
He said what he'd seen and told what he'd learned.
The King of the Butterflies looked in his eyes
and said, 'You do not know what the light is or why."
A second butterfly left and came back.
His wings were burnt and his back was all black.
The King of the Butterflies looked in his eyes
and said, 'You do not know what the light is or why.'
A third butterfly soared into the flame
and POOF!, he never came back again.
The King of the Butterflies looked towards the light
and said, 'He alone knows what the light is and why!'
